WORLD FIRST 5G MODEM LAUNCHED BY SAMSUNG

World first 5G Modem launched by South Korea Electronic Company SAMSUNG. It has developed Exynos Modem 5100. The industry first 5G Modem that is fully compatible with 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). The most up-to-date standard specification for 5G New Radio (5G-NR). Company say ‘modem 5100 is work on latest 5G radio technologies.
Samsung successfully conducted an over-the-air (OTA) 5G-NR data call test under a wireless environment utilizing a 5G base station and 5G end- user equipment prototype embedded with Exynos Modem 5100

ALL NETWORKS ARE SUPPORTED

According to reports this modem are supported all the networks 2G GSM/CDMA, 3G WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, HSPA and 4G LTE. With a single chip solution. The single chip design that maximizes data trasmission efficiency and relaiability between other communication networks.

MORE DATA IN LESS TIME
The modem delivers a maximum dawnlink speed of upto 2Gbps (gigabits per second) in 5G’s sub-6-gigahertz(GHz) setting and 6Gbps in mmWave setting, which are about 1.7 and five times the data transfer speeds of its predecessor respectively. Fast and stable data communication can also be secured in 4G networks with the downlink speed of 1.6Gbps via 8CA (Carrier Aggregation) and advanced features such as 256-QAM and 4x4 MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output).

ALL IN ONE CHIPSET
The Exynos Modem 5100 is provided as a single chipset that consists of cellular modem, RF, ET (Envelope Tracking) and power management IC. It helps device manufacturer to reduce time and resource for development resulting in faster time-to-market. Notably, the Exynos RF offers superb compatibility to support all major RF modes even the unlicensed 5GHz allowing cutting-edge 5G smartphones to be made available to consumers much faster.

POWER EFFICIENCY

The Exynos Modem 5100, built on the advanced 10nm FinFET process with low-power design, features better power efficiency. The 10LPP, the 2nd generation 10nm FinFET process, allows up to 10-percent higher performance or 15-percent lower power consumption compared to 10LPE (Low Power Early) process. And the Exynos Modem 5100 features low-power state mode that drastically controls power and clock supply. Furthermore, the Exynos Modem 5100 is delivered with the Envelope Tracking IC that efficiently determines the power supply voltage needed by tracking and optimizing signal level in real-time.
