WHAT IS LiFi? HOW DOES LiFi WORK?

In today's time, we are surrounded by technology. Every day a new technology is coming. Meanwhile, we have come up with a technology called 'LiFi'. Light Fidelity (LiFi) is a wireless optical networking technology that uses visible light from LED's for data transmission. As the name suggests, the relation of this technology is from light. Li-Fi was invented by Harald Haas from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland back in 2011, when he demonstrated for the first time that by flickering the light from a single LED, he could transmit far more data than a cellular tower.

We know all about WiFi (Wireless Fidelity), and we also think that WiFi is the fastest wireless transmission technology of data transmission. But, LiFi is a better technology than WiFi For high-speed communication, if we use more than two intensity level, the data transfer rate will be faster than current system. This type of wireless internet technology has been developed which can provide connections faster than traditional WiFi 100 times faster.

LiFi is a Visible Light Communications (VLC) system for data transmission. ... LED is a semiconductor light source, which implies that LED light bulbs can amplify light intensity and switch rapidly. Therefore, LED cells can modulate thousands of signals without the human eye ever noticing. LiFi is designed to use LED light bulbs similar to those currently in use in many energy-conscious homes and offices.

Comprehensive Summary of Modulation Techniques for LiFi. ... Specifically, light emitting diodes (LEDs) are used in LiFi as visible light transmitters. This means future lighting systems fulfil two functions: high speed wireless networking and illumination.

The Russian company Stins Coman is selling its Li-Fi based solution (a visible light communication technology that uses light from light-emitting diodes to deliver internet) in the U.S., IsraelChina, and other countries
